thigh tattoo

When I was down in Fl the word was the ladies with a thigh tattoo were 'branded' as in that was the symbol of the fella she worked for. Im not sure thats a nationwide thing or a regional deal, but it always makes me curious when I see gals with a thigh tat.

Notice how they show off the thigh tattoos in their pictures?
Or don't show it?
Sounds like an urban folk tale to me. How many civilian girls do you see with thigh tats? And I'm guessing that the pics are to show off the thighs, not the ink.

Probably some of both. I'm sure it happens, but add young girls with poor judgement skills to start with who have grown up watching a ton of shitty TV reality shows about ink shops where anybody with any sense wouldn't eat a hamburger that one of the "artists" prepared at their previous job... and who knows?
In the context of recent reviews like this, though, it might explain a lot...

I have watched some of those shows about the sex industry and the one thing they do talk about is tattoos being used as a brand. From what I remember about it the two main things when it comes to branding is the type of tattoo and the location. So, if 10 girls have the same tattoo and that tattoo is in the same location odds are that they have been branded by the same person. The locations and tattoos change depending on the person that brands them.

During one of my tattoo sittings I was talking to my tattooist and this very subject was brought up. At one point he was asked if he would be willing to help them out by covering up the brand tattoos on girls that are trying to get out. He was going to do it but they wanted him to sign all these disclosure documents and then he decided against it.
