NBA All Star Game In Dallas, Texas And Prostitutes

North Texas is expecting thousands of visitors for the NBA All-Star Weekend, but Dallas police are also making plans to deal with some unwelcome visitors -- prostitutes.

“We have been told from other cities that there is going to be an increase in prostitutes,” Lt. Christina Smith said.

A nonprofit group in Phoenix estimates that between 50,000 and 100,000 prostitutes flooded its city during Super Bowl XLII last year. Dallas police said they don't know what to expect from the All-Star Game.

“I think it’s safe to say we will see some girls that are the traditional street prostitute, and fair to say, we can expect more of the escort-service type of girls," Smith said.

The department is taking a page from the playbooks of other cities that have hosted high-profile sporting events, such as the NBA All-Star Game.

To prepare, the vice unit is adjusting officers' schedules and hours so that all hands are on deck next week. Dallas police said they will focus on prostitution hot spots, such as Harry Hines Boulevard, as well as high-end hotels.

“The escort-service girls will be found around the hotels, where a lot of the clients will be staying," Smith said.

Police said nearly every hotel has hired off-duty officers to work next weekend.

Dallas police said the All-Star Game will be good practice for next year's Super Bowl in Arlington.

That's very interesting! I do think touring ladies should be extra careful and make sure to receive 2 escort references for verification purposes along with the other verifiable methods they're accustomed to using. With that said, I believe any escort can have a successful tour without any hassles from LE.

I've toured events such as the Pro Bowl, the Superbowl and several All Star weekends at various locations in the past and never had any problems.

Yes. Superbowl is happening here in Miami and yes, it's going to be busy with girls I guess, but I wouldn't bet that rates are going to be very high.

Guy friends have told me that they've been hustled on Ocean Drive ($200 for starters), so I guess girls'll be approaching guys directly.

Supply is not the only side of the equation. You can double supply, but if demand quadruples, prices will still go up. Equilibrium price depends on both curves.

At the higher end of the estimate(100k) that would be one pross for every fan at the game. Not anywhere near likely! I would think maybe 500-1000 is much more like it.

I've already made a deal with my UTR ATF for Yum Yum time that weekend...

I should hope all providers, and hobbyists, would exercise extra caution...

Jerry Jones the Mayor of the Metroplex will be watching how LE handles this as a prelude to next year's Super Bowl...

But rest assured Jerry will have his little harem stashed away somewhere, for him and his cronies...

I dunno...if Jerry really had that much control, he'd be telling Vice to stay out of the high-end hotels and bars. He knows that's bad for bidness.
