House takes action on trafficking

More money=more stings=more consenting adults busted by the Child Exploitation Task Force and the like.
Does anyone else feel like they sometimes just use that as a cover to just arrest a bunch of people who are over age? Or am I just seeing it wrong.
You're not the only one Stacey.
Stupid question but I have heard people say the more bust they do the more money they get to do them.. is that true?

Yes Stacey that is most likely true! It would be just like the school system the more kids that they have that they can say have some sort of disability (made up or fabricated it don't matter) the more $s they qualify for!
Part of the reason they have so many more kids with a mental disability.
Thats messed up
1. It's PR. They bust people in a sting that brings up trafficking or child exploitation and they win the popular opinion. If it was really about trafficking, they'd be setting up their stings in truck stops and not luxury hotels.
2. It's money. PR leads to more grant money. "hey, they're really doing good things, we've got to support them" (perception trumps reality)
3. It's a war of attrition. By focusing on busting johns, they are trying to trim the demand. However, as long as there are marriages, and no sex in those marriages, there will be demand for prostitution. Maybe they should add mandatory coverage for free sex therapy visits in the Trump/Ryan/McConnell Care Bill.
Pretty much what Will He says. Its all about the shame game also. My atty says the more busts the more money. Just like busting minors for buying cigs or booze. It makes them look like they are doing good. I'm all for stopping the trafficking of underage girls but that isnt the problem around here. (Unless I am that naive). Most of us are here to have a good time, relieve some stress. And I'm not married or have a gf. Just trying to enjoy life. Everyone play safe.
