Traffic Circles in the Area

just curious how many traffic circles are in Dallas-Fort Worth.. I drove the only one I know of, today.. on 377 in west Fort Worth, just south of Camp Bowie.

are there others? I can't think of any others in Texas.. maybe it's not coming to me?

Roundabouts are going to become more popular in the Fort Worth area according to recent article in the Startlegram.

There is at least one in Colleyville.

Couple in Colleyville even more in the devs west of 35 N (presidio & alliance center). Annoyances and merits I guess

There's one in Allen at N. Allen Drive and St. Mary Drive. Not exactly a high-traffic area, though.

That’s the only true “traffic circle” in Dallas/Fort Worth, per Chung’s inquiry. Traffic circles are meant for high speed traffic movements. However, there are numerous “roundabouts” in the Metroplex. More communities are embracing roundabouts because of its safety factors. For example, Colleyville and Flower Mound have numerous roundabouts. Roundabouts are designed for slow speed local traffic.

I never heard that term "roundabout" before.. those are apparently not the same as traffic circles.

so.. is the Benbrook traffic circle the only REAL traffic circle?

edit: I see You&Me just posted this!

They should be everywhere there is a “four way stop”. Keeps traffic moving!

People are too stupid to use them.

There is one in batch springs...beltline, pioneer, and eastgate

List of them planned or built in Fort Worth...

I know of some places that have built them and then less than a year later tore it out.

There are a LOT in Colorado.
There is one in Waco. I was trying to get to that landmark restaurant that has been there for years and got sucked into the traffic circle. Now I hear Chippie and Jo-Jo have bought that restaurant (I think it was closed) and have re-positioned it as a new place.

I personally really dislike roundabouts /traffic circles! It usually takes at least 3 laps before I decide which road to turn left onto...

At least it's not a Magic Roundabout.

Keller Springs has one near Preston I think. I drive through it almost every day on the way to yoga.

After living overseas, I don't understand why we don't have more. They make so much more sense.

Same with the yellow before green lights.
