Not the same, but certainly similar. This guy's mistake was getting over involved, personally vetting people, doling out favors, different levels of access, personally communicating with providers, etc. I think that will work against him...should have been more hands off.

From what I have read there have been relatively few prosecutions of board owners as it's something of a gray area. This will be a test case, though only at the state level.
