It’s not easy being The Lama these days.

I've considered joining the NRA before. I still may.

Hell, you can even own a functioning canon or tank under these laws.

A so-called "Bump Stock" removes the shooter's finger from the trigger allowing a follow-up shot. As such, it is not itself regulated as a firearm. Each shot comes from a single pull of the triggers by the shooter. A similar effect may be achieved with the application of a rubber band or shoe lace to the trigger.

Frankly, I think crazy people should be banned. Mental Health professionals who let these people out should be jailed. Think of the Fort Hood shooter, the Columbine guys and others.

The problem is not limited to shootings. Who missed Timothy McVey or . . . Jeffry ?Dahmer, John Wayne Giesy also come to mind. Pick another; Boston Strangler, Zodiac Son-of-Sam etc. These guys are out there.

England has restricted firearms so kuch that the nut jobs are committing random stabbings . . .and the English are now trying to forbit carrying anything sharp. Really: anything sharp pr p;ointed can get you in troluble with the police.

ICU is correct.
Why ban bumpstocks- effectively - it functions (with a semi auto rifle) as a full auto weapon.

Those weapons are under National firearms acts of 1986 and 1934.

i see no reason to have uncontrolled $99 full auto weapons on the loose when the real things are governed by law.

yes - I own NFA weapons.

Ban whatever you want but madmen will always be around.

How does banning anything, while evildoers who would circumvent laws at will or just come up with a more sinister plan, make good people safe?
Not NRA.

Having grown up military we had guns in the house. We were also taught how to use them and to respect them.

Back in the day, at my high school, we had pick up trucks in the parking lot with gun racks and rifles in them. Never had a shooting.

I do believe that people with mental handicaps should be restricted to access of firearms. However, the mental health system is a mess. And that needs to be addressed first. Try having someone committed and getting them help is....I don't have a word for it. It's almost impossible.
And to me, that's where the real tragedy is.

OEB11: Rock-on!

How would you feel about making "Bump-Stocks" and similar devices regulated as other NFA articles are?

Could an executive order be made to work? The cost of any transferrable firearm is right up tyhere with a semester of college tuition. An NFA Bump-Stock would be an affordable, RFEGULATED, alternative.

To my knowledge fully automatic weapons are rarely used in crime.

If you break bad today, what good did those laws do?

The price is a bigger barrier than any law.

Do you believe it's that hard to fashion a homemade bump stock?

If you're good, the laws are annoying.

If you're bad they are simply ignored and provide little to no actual means of stopping you from doing evil things.

I've got it!

Let's make a law that says it's illegal to unjustifiably kill people.

That will fix everything!

This ought to scare the $h!+ out of about anybody. Check this YouTube video.

Looks like anyone could carve that piece out of a hack saw blade with a Dremel tool in an hour or so.

Makes a Bump Stock look lame.
