OK so there is a whole thread dedicated to mocking The First Lady and her inability to speak English with accuracy and fluidity . . . .
I say so what? English is not her mother tongue after all. It is not even her second language. Mrs. Trump grew up speaking Slovenian, a language most Americans had never heard ov before 2016. Her ability to communicate in English comes well behind German French and Italian.
My father immigrated from Hungary at age 17. When he landed at Ellis Island, he could speak Hungarian, German, Hebrew and Latin . . .oh yes, and English. He spoke English with a strong accent for the rest of his life . . .think of Henry Kissinger, but worse.
So it is understandable that the president's wife might miss the nuances of the English language, particularly in a politically charged context . . .like redoing the Rose Garden.
