Staph Aureus from Massage?

Got massage from provider earlier this week. Made trip to ER tonite for very bad golf ball sized boil on belly and got antibiotics plus shot in the butt. Doc said it was wise I stopped by.

I have never had a boil or Staph A infection in my life. The massager was on Bedpage and was in a classy spa place. Clean sheets. Not a momma san.

What was different was this young lady gave a very painful massage massage like she was a S&M freak. I may have gotten scratched which caused the infection.

Not going to out the name, as I cant prove my ER trip was do to this lady, but just saying.

Be careful.

Very easy to catch MRSA from a massage table, just request fresh sheets and towel, when you walk in.
They won't do it, then walk.
How about at least an indication of what are of town. My gut is if it is suspicious you should share so someone else does not get an infection. If not then don't even report.
There were fresh sheets put on the table.

Waiting for culture results, but may be negative as boil is not oozing yet. It started out looking like a fire ant bite with a pustule, now its spread into a roughly 4 inch diameter red circle with hard lumps.

Since its uncertain where I got it, I am not going into details. It wasn't one of the asians. And it was $$$ for nothing. I think this chick enjoys scamming.
I think the takeaway is if the chick is hurting you, or breaking the skin, get out of there.
Staph is all over your skin - may not have been the massage at all

None of the above.

Also note that I have never had a staph infection before. Been getting massages for 20+ years.

Well then..
Its just your time to get a staph infection
There's staph all over the body, especially your nasal passages..
None the less ,just do the best you can, I had a Spa girl a few years ago w a huge hot boil on her back, full of pus..
She didn't have any insurance, I came back the next day ,injected the site w local and lanced the site, ended up packing the site w gauze to clean it out ..

You have MRSA sound like. I believe, the massage girl is a carrier. I caught it a few times at the gym. I stopped going to gyms.
I agree, if she is "hurting you", get out of there or at least put a stop to it.

I caught an infection from not stopping the hard rubbing on my legs with no oil...or perhaps it was something else "in the room".
There was not even a handjob at the end. My thighs were red after the massage. The redness didn't go away. A couple days later it was spreading down below the knees.

I went to the doctor. Antibiotics took care of it all. (whatever it was)

Beware of the "massage" places. You don't know what is lurking in those rooms or on their bodies.
