I have been reading many reviews on places, and the horrible things I read are starting to hurt my head. Please help me!!

What is the best area and safest area?

I am not a big fan of downtown because of parking situations, but how do you feel about it?

Downtown is not the most convenient place or safest after dark. Take a look at the Uptown area on Louisiana north of I40. Several upper midrange hotels, lots of places to eat and shop.
