Hotels/Motels that take cash.

I know Motel 6 takes cash but man the one I frequent is gross.

Any other Hotel or Motel chains that also take cash? Thanks!

Hilltop Inn might, but it's gross too. Website for the Jefferson Hills motel says they take cash. I believe the Pittsburgh Motel (also gross...) will also, if you want to risk taking some bedbugs home with you...

I can tell you for sure that Red Roof (at least the one in Robinson) has gone entirely cashless, and they won't check you in unless you present a major credit card, issued by an actual bank that has physical branches, with your name on it - they have signs up saying that they specifically don't accept prepaid gift cards, PayPal cards, Chime, NetSpend, or any other online-only card issuer.
carry a spray bottle of home defense with some termite and carpenter ant insect killer added. to ward off at least the pesky bugs followin ya home. what she shares is a different defense. i get the hee be- gee b,ies jus thinkin of lookin inside some of them.
The East Exit in Monroeville.

I think the Siesta in North Versailles.

The Valley Motel in Harmar used to take cash as well.

None of these are much better than the 6 in Crafton.

The Inn Forza in Monaca is cash and is surprisingly nice for $60-90 / night. I get the vibe that the owners have a zero tolerance for shenanigans, and there are cameras in the main hallways, so I would be cautious of doing nefarious things there.

My favorite friend is in the Washington Pa area. Any suggestions down there other than the Motel 6.
I think Days Inn might but I called and talked to a foreigner who made no sense to me.

Days Inn is a Wyndham brand, I'd expect they have a chain-wide policy requiring a major credit card on checkin, at least for "incidentals", or so they have something to run a charge against if you violate the non-smoking policy or something.

Another possibility, depending on how paranoid you want to be. Even major hotel brands that absolutely require a credit card at check-in will usually let you settle up in cash when you check out. A lot of times, they'll run an authorization for the room charge, but if you settle up in cash at checkout, the authorization gets released and nothing ever gets charged to your card (so nothing shows up on your statement). Though make absolutely sure what the hotel actually does, before you depend on that idea.

also of note, some of these places accept cash, but they also require some form of ID. Forza scanned my DL

Most not in my area. I did discover that Hyatt Places take cash(at least the one in Robinson does).
They do take credit card info but you can pay cash at checkout.
That brings into the awkward check-out 2 hours after check-in. lol ….so cash at check-in is definitely preferred. I don’t like looking that obvious.
