I read multiple replies on eccie saying that deposit prior to meeting is a scam. I wonder if anyone has a successful encounter with a deposit.

I have a few times, but I have been burned countless times.

The chances of having a BCD session after paying a deposit or prepay is greatly reduced by how new the provider is to the business while the chances of a session taking place is better depending on the longevity of the provider being a provider. If a provider scams, she does not last long.

With that in mind, there is no guarantee that a provider will see you after you pay a deposit no matter who she is, so my advice is to never pay one, even if it is just a dollar.

There are too many ladies out there who do not charge deposits, no drama on/off the boards and who want to have regulars, go with those ladies.

I generally agree with what WEC said, particularly the first paragraph. The only thing I’ll add is that I might recommend it to a newbie who has little history for a lady to rely upon when agreeing to a date, particularly if she is highly sought after or you are requesting an outcall.

The better bet if you are going to be active in this hobby is to subscribe to P411 and see a few providers there to get some OKs under your belt. Once you are seen as reliable, you should have no problem setting dates with quality ladies…the remainder are either scams or too lazy to do proper screening (and why pay to see ladies who aren’t willing to invest some time screening you if the information they need is out there?).

Unfortunately, so many no no-shows or fake bookings have made me require a deposit for all new meetings. I even had to ask a deposit from a regular because we haven’t met in years. It’s astounding how many gentlemen will not want to honor a cancellation fee .

If I have to cancel on my end, I do return the deposit. That’s only happened with the bad weather in the springtime though.

If an incall I never pay a deposit, if asking an outcall I pay the deposit or send an Uber Gift Card......it's amazing how many Providers do not drive, own a car, or even have a License that is valid.

If a guy is a newbie with nothing but a few Listcrawler References you better be prepared to send a deposit. Chances are that if a newbie you will get ghosted even with the deposit.

Make sure you do your homework: if the lady has a plethora of reviews, is active in our community and has been around for a while, she is probably just making sure she doesn't get ready and/or lose business from some flake. It happens OFTEN. Most reputable ladies will ask for a nominal amount, but enough to encourage you not to blow off the encounter.

You have to ask yourself if youre okay with never seeing the money you send as a deposit again and not getting anything in return. Most guys will tell you never pay.. some will say only with ladies who are reputable. No one can make this decision for you. I personally have been burned a couple of times before I found these forums and will never do it again, even if the lady is reputable. Nothing against them, but you just never know. If they require a deposit, I just move on.

I know lots of reputable ladies that get a deposit and the gents have an absolute lovely time.

Just do your research on a lady.
Don't pay the backpage type/rubMD/list crawler girls a deposit. DON'T DO IT! 99.9% of the time, I feel they will scam you.

I have 14yrs in the hobby, I'm well reviewed, have an established online presence and certainly wouldn't risk ruining the reputation that I've built for myself for $100 or $150. Look for those types of ladies.
Personally I don't ask for a retainer bc it's more for me to have to keep up with.

I have a lot more successful appointment's when getting a deposit.
I for sure not going to risk my rep over $100 to gost anyone or run a scam . I have worked on at my craft to long to just run it down by any scams or gosting.

Probiders. And stay off STG LC RubMD type of sites.

I'm gonna just go out there and say I have "maybe" changed my mind. I do know that providers are ghosted probably more than we guys are. That has to be very frustrating. A small deposit would do a lot to prevent that. Seeing the responses by well-known providers offering their thoughts gives me occasion to reflect. Why would I have a problem with a small deposit to a known quality provider. In retrospect, maybe I would not have a problem.
Having said that, what's the dividing line between a known provider and one that might use deposits as a scam. I do also know I have never lost money by paying a deposit and then begin ghosted. What I don't know is how many delicious afternoon delights I have missed by not paying a small deposit.

Don't do it, EVER. Plenty of good gals out there that don't require a deposit.

Oh, this is interesting. 12 total replies. 8 are guys. ALL say never pay a deposit. 4 are gals. ALL say go ahead and pay them.

I didn’t say “never pay a deposit”. There are a few instances where it may be justified as I explained in my prior post.

But mostly, there are usually good options other than paying a deposit, and guys should look to those first before resorting to “pay before play”.
