Weird/Threatening Text?

I received a missed phone call and a text from an unknown number that said:

"This is carlos speaking to you. I am in charge of the backlist24 bedpage and service houses, I am writing to you since I have several reports of your number I want you to know that the girls are not alone I paid for your information and that of your family as well as I will pay for your fucking head if not You pay for the time you made my Escorts lose"

I've texted people that I'm interested in, and sometimes decide not to actually schedule anything if I get weird vibes, but I've never been a "no-show". This feels like a scam, so I was just going to ignore it, but has anyone else seen something like this?

Had a similar situation. They want you to respond. Don't do it. It is a scam.

Same here. I blocked the number then received one from a different number a few hours later. Finally just deleted my number and got a new one. Sucks because I didn’t get to save any of the existing contacts I had.

I decided to play it safe and send them all of the money that I have. But the jokes on them, I didn't have any money! haha

Just kidding, I took everyone's advice and just blocked them. I love that this is such a questionable/unethical hobby, but the community (so far) seems to be great people.

Time to send those messages to the police/FBI for the death threats. Informing them isn't an admission to you doing anything wrong since those could have been sent to anyone regardless of the claim.

I got the call today. They knew my name, my wife's name and address. I told them to fuck off. I know all that is easy from a Google search but unnerving none the less.

I dont use a burner phone anymore. So yes, they could look it up easily.

Just curious, are these texts coming after contacting a particular add?

Another reason I dont answer calls from numbers i dont recognize. If it is important they will leave a message. If no msg left it usually gets blocked too. About only time i answer is if expecting a delivery or worker or appt reminder. Same with text. i have missed out on many lost packages and arrest warrants and kids are in jail needing bail.
