So I got a random number today and asked me to provide a reference for a number(guy) that I have seen a couple times in the past few weeks !
No name no introduction .. just can you verify this number ???

I kindly asked what is your name and are you member of eccie or p411 or anything to verify you are safe for my regular!!

She got mad called me a bitch and said she don’t need a reference lol! So I’m like okay sorry if you got offended?? Am I wrong for responding and verifying the way I did ! ! ?? Because if so I’ll accept that but it has been bothering me all day !!

You did fine.
The other gal should have identified herself.

I have heard of a few similar stories wherein a guy's wife pulled that type of inquiry, to entrap her soon to be ex.

Ignoring that the other gal failed basic respect for others in industry, the entire point of references is safety for everyone.

I really appreciate that !! I was like man I’m not mean !! I just wanna make sure we’re all safe!!
Thank you for that, you did exactly what you were supposed to do.

It is amazing how many fake texts a person gets for different things like bank notices or packages supposedly shipped to wrong address.

I am 99% sure that the call you got was up to no good.
Sounds either scammy or crazy……. Either way, you handled it right.

Right call. As a client I value discretion above convenience.

A legit hobbyist would have given you advance notice a about a reference call from another provider. Giving you the providers name, number and email. You handled it perfectly.

You did exactly what hobbyists would expect from a provider. You did a great job.

Any female can call and ask the same questions and claim to be a provider. Hobbyists as well as providers should be under the same scrutiny for verification.
I legit had the same incident happen to me but when I told her I googled her number and that nothing came up and to verify herself before I answer, she just ghosted me . I then asked my client if he was trying to get a reference from me . He told me no

Safety first !!
I would agree you did the right thing never know who it is that is asking. I personally let the provider know that I used them for a reference and so and so may reach out to you from such and such number so yeah great job girl. And it's been to long we got to catch up one of these days girl

Agree you are in the right!!

I have had the same issue, then said provider claims ther were using their personal number .. very odd seemed extremely fishy.

I dont see why it's hard to take an extra minute to identify yourself before randomly asking someone for their assistance.
