Pitched sides and many shades of gray in between.

Ukraine and its people need peace, but not in exchange for a bad deal that too many fickle, weak-willed and selfish people would thrust upon them.

The Ukrainian-Americans must be the problem, you think?

If they didn't go back and fight, they are American not Ukrainian.

Are you really implying that if you don't emigrate back to your 'home country', even after generations, that you can't claim to have a heritage there? Or are you just trying to throw shade at Ukrainians?

I do have a heritage, but I don't feel I have the right to claim loyalty to them, as, I am an American.

If I was asked what I thought of my Tibetan and Peruvian heritage countries current political status, I'd state it's not my business and doesn't matter.

But if you feel as a Ukrainian American you need to go back and fight, I'd say you're a Ukrainian first, and American 2nd.

Don't let Devo drag us off topic.

There are clearly many locals appalled by Trump's behavior and blatant disregard for the humanity and dignity of others.

Over 200 Ukrainians were killed in combat during and after the presser.

As you presume, as do I, lives may have been saved if other actions occurred.

Neither of us is right.

Or perhaps they are supporting their countrymen by selling pirogi and sending the proceeds back?

Instead of saying "The people who are getting killed, if they chose not to get killed, they are bad people"
You should really be saying "The people who are getting killed, shouldn't be getting killed by the russians in the first place"

You're gonna see Ukraine heritage people in Pittsburgh
who support Zelenskyy and the war - but also others who
want the war to be over.
Just as you'll see Russian heritage people who support
Russia and Putin - but also others who want the war over.

Zelenskyy surely buggered up the meeting with Trump
and Vance and NOW he's in the shit... Best o' luck to him!

“In Western Pennsylvania, we teach our kids to stand up for their friends, to tell the truth, and that their word is a sacred bond. Our leaders should do the same, not the bidding of a tyrant like Vladimir Putin,” Deluzio said.
“Ukraine has been raped and pillaged enough,” she said. “I don’t see any benefit of America exploiting the resources of Ukraine.”

Don't forget, more folks in Pittsburgh support Ukraine than Russia. We aren't seeing a bunch of anti-Ukraine protests in Oakland.

Or in Squirrel Hill

Anyone here know any any planned local anti-Ukraine protests or go to one lately?
