He wasn't as damning towards LGBT folks, and asked to have countries look at not having the disparity of wealth, and to accept asylum seekers. While being political in nature- I think he was likely a more progressive ideology type of Pope. As they enter conclave- if you haven't seen the movie of the same name- it is a worthy watch. Lots more going on that at the surface and more to consider than just being catholic.
