Area code should not matter , as I get area codes from all over the USA

(e.g, I moved from Memphis back to St. Louis a year ago, and I still have my AC 901 number.)
For all practical purposes we've moved from 7 digit phone numbers with area codes only for long distance calls, to 10 digit phone numbers used nationwide.
