Crossed Paths...

So I crossed paths with a provider in the real world. Turns out she interviewed for a position I have open. It was awkward but interesting. Could I really hire an assistant that I know in this way.

There's several kc local gals that I know that have turned into rw acquaintances. Some are retired from hobby. I've helped a few with resumes.

Think about this, if a basic work rule is no dating a co-worker, then does it matter what she does for a part-time job? This, of course, requires both to maintain perspective.

Frankly, most civie folks I interview are clueless about marketing and customer service. I've seen a couple retired gals land and keep those types of jobs and do well.

Has she already met you outside of your job? If so, don't do it.


Can you keep your mouth shut and remain professional in the work place? If not, don't do it.


Can you treat her in a fair and equitable manner, and not allow your knowledge of activities outside of your workplace to come into decision making that would either be to her benefit or detriment? If not, don't do it.

Can you handle the fact that she is off limits from now on if you want to keep your personal and/or professional life and hobby life separate? If not, don't do it.
