Threatening texts

I have been a member here for a while but I choose not to post much. Today I reached via text to 4 providers to see who may be available. Within about an hour, I received a call (did not answer)then a text from an NY area say they were the boss of the escort service I contacted and I am on notice that I have wasted the girls time and now need to pay a fine to the boss or there will be “bloodshed”. I kindly told them to get lost but they continued to text and at one point sent my real name. I’m not worried about any of this crap but wondered if anyone has ever had this happen. 3 of the providers are on tryst, one I have seen several times, the other 2 are newer but appear legit, the other is in on escort monkey and also appears legit so I’m at a loss as to who is the culprit.

Happens all the time. Never heard of anybody who actually was the victim of "bloodshed", it's mainly just threats and blackmail. If they knew your real name, some of your info is available through the number you use. Best to close that loop. Even with burner phones and app numbers, sometimes the dots can be connected back to your real identity. Information is so insidious these days, it's hard to keep anything secret for long. I google my burner phone numbers occasionally just to make sure they're clean.

Hope you're not using your real phone number. If you are STOP !
I've gotten them a bunch of times. I'll just block the number or if I'm bored ill text them back. I'll tell them I'm sorry and ask them where they want to meet so I can pay them the money. They usually get upset when I insist on paying cash in person. LOL
Nope been on a hobby phone for a long time. Gooood advice!
I get them all the time and I like to mess with them back haha
I've got them too. I use a texting app but it still scared the crap out of me. I blocked the number.
Hobby/burner phone is the way. I had to give up my hobby phone when I retired (from work) because I didn't want to have to explain it if it is ever found. Now I just use hobby email - it works fine. Everybody can access email on their smart phone and nobody can call you back or text or access personal info from a fake email address.
