I've been absent from the AMP game for a long time. In the Dallas Disneyland of twenty years ago, the rule was simple: 200 on the table and you're good to go. When I'd make an occasional trip to Colorado, matters were similarly straightforward: 40/60/80 (or was it 60/80/100), depending on the level of service. Last week I received a very competent half hour massage (had a hard day of work coming up and wasn't looking for anything else), and gave the masseuse $30 (60 percent!) on the way out the door. She accepted the gratuity without thanks, basically acting as though I were trying to place a tarantula in her hand.
A less awkward transaction next time would be nice, but if I have to continue to learn the new etiquette by trial and error, I certainly understand....
