Alphabet Soup

One thing I love about this community is how we’ve basically built our own secret language. ATF, GFE, PSE, UTR, NCNS, ROS, ISO… it’s like reading a foreign dictionary sometimes.

Half the fun is watching new folks try to decode it all:
• “Wait, is ATF a baseball league or a favorite lady?”
• “Does GFE come with dinner or just dessert?”
• “NCNS… that’s basically the scarlet letter of the hobby, right?”

- What’s your favorite acronym in the hobby?
- Which one made you laugh the first time you figured it out?
- And has anyone ever actually invented a new one just to mess with people?

(bonus points if you can string five acronyms into one sentence.)

I smile every time I see that as I used to have an ATF license to handle stuff used to preventively set off avalanches when I was ski patrol. Simple flashbacks to a prior life.

However, it could apply to breaking beds with my fav.
