I have never done a USDA loan but have read about it extensively and my curiosity is getting someone's perspective that's actually been through the whole process.
Thinking about using this route for a house.

Well, you have to buy in a qualifying area and they will pull a full credit check. Note that a USDA Loan is actually only a guarantee on top of a local banks mortgage loan. But they get approved frequently.
I used it when I bought my property so that I could roll closing cost into the loan. I brought 0 dollars to closing.

Positives
lower interest than FHA, lower closing cost than FHA, lower mortgage insurance than FHA, easier qualifying than FHA, 0 down available.
Negatives
Fewer lenders
can take more time to close than FHA, available in primarily rural areas.

Thanks everyone, Unfortunately the government is shut down and that route wouldn't help me at this time
