I never considered myself a fan, although I liked “Beth” enough to buy the single and something compelled me to purchase the “Kiss Alive II” album when it charted. I need to revisit that album since I started listening to vinyl again during COVID and I know I still have it.
I did honor Ace this morning by downloading “New York Groove”. I always liked his version, even if some fans thought it was a sell-out (and “Beth” wasn’t? lol).
Gene Simmons, though, is the one who gets my respect. His knack for marketing himself and the band should be studied in business schools everywhere.
