Who else refuses novocaine at the dentist

I cant be the only one. Whenever i get a cavity, i chose not to take Novocaine when getting a filling. The reason is cuz Novocaine makes you feel weird. i dont like the fat lip numb feeling. So i take my chances and get my teeth drilled without any numbing. The drill doesn't even hurt that bad without, so worth it to walk out of the dentist office with a normal feeling face instead of 3 hours of numbness. Call me crazy but what i chose

Plus if you wanna schedule a date after a dentist appointment, cant kiss with numb mouth. Another reason why i go without. Reminder take good care of your teeth so u dont end up missing all ur teeth like many providers whove fallen on their hard times

I have to agree with you. I did not get Novacaine for a cavity.

WTF
Agree is doable re cavities, but suggest you try that with a crown prep or better yet, a root canal. Tenuous connection to theme of board lol
Thread as thin as the floss I use.
They don’t even use Novocaine anymore they use lidocaine and it doesn’t work half the time..
I'd like to add one thing; getting anesthesia for a colonoscopy is total bullshit. It's a money grab from the doctor trying to get extra (BIG extra) from your insurance company. I realize everyone is different, different pain tolerance, etc. But I'm convinced that very few people need it and without it, you don't need to have someone pick you up. I can provide more details, but it's kind of a long story.
The bigger need for anesthesia here, like with most invasive procedures, is to make sure patient doesn't move around during procedure. You wouldn't squirm a bit with plumber snake up your colon? And any pain tolerable when hit obstructions or need to roto rooter out cysts and such? During Civil War they amputated thousands of limbs with little to more commonly nothing for pain just needed bunch of guys to hold you down? You want to save a few bucks there also?
It's not about saving a few bucks. It's simply about need. I've have two colonoscopies. It's just slight discomfort. Pain level 2. I know many others, men and women, who have also elected not to have anesthesia. Again, everyone is different. But from what I saw, discussed with my doctor, they do it for a money grab.
