No the argument I am making is that there is zero reason for there to be any immigrants in the US now...legal or otherwise.
They aren't adding shit to our nation and they are actively killing American citizens. Its one of the FEW jobs the government has (to protect the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness of the citizens) and it is failing miserably at it, because we are importing an entirely new electorate. Twelve percent's not a bad number. It's one of the reasons America is a dynamic, growing powerhouse, while Europe and Japan stagnate.
And yeah, the current number, around 15.5%, is probably too high. And too many are unskilled. We need people to work on farms and slaughterhouses and the like, but a guest worker program makes more sense for them. Originally Posted by Tiny

Thats simply not true and Europe and Japans stagnation has nothing to do with their immigration policies. Hell if you don't think Europe has immigrants, you aren't keeping up on the news.. in the UK, those immigrants are gang raping their ********! Originally Posted by texassapper

Population is increasing in the USA because of immigration. It's decreasing in western Europe, Japan and China.
Eventually the population of the USA will overtake China's. It could happen in this century. More likely it will be the next century. To me, that's not a big deal, but I believe you're fearful of the USA becoming a second rate power, by the side of China.
The population of China is 4X that of the USA, and the Chinese are just as smart and hardworking as Americans. In the medium term it may just surpass the USA as the dominant world power. In the long term however, if the USA encourages immigration, there's a good chance it will have the strongest economy, and military if it so chooses, in the world.
Japan and Europe are relative has beens.
As to your point, yes, immigration of the best, the brightest and the skilled helps make America exceptional, and improves the prosperity of the country. Here are some statistics.
% of Fortune 500 company founders who are immigrants: 22%
% of Fortune 500 company founders who are children of immigrants: 24%
Doctors who are immigrants: 25%
Scientists and engineers who are immigrants: 19%
PhD scientists and engineers who are immigrants: 43%
NVIDIA, Alphabet (Google), and Tesla were all founded by immigrants. Those are the first, fourth, and eight largest companies in the world by market cap. All are bigger than the largest non-USA company, Taiwan Semiconductor. Do you want to cede that advantage, that comes from immigration, to countries like China?
