The Real Liberal/Conservative Test !!!

Does reading this (see Bloomberg linked story) make your blood boil? If you answer yes, chances are you are a Conservative, if no then you are a big spending, union loving liberal....

BTW; why is it that these kinds of outrages only happen in the Democratically dominated States?

So parties to a contract honoring their agreement is a liberal position? Glad to know that.

that contract is too generous.

It's still a contract. The state may want to renegotiate, but there is nothing in the article that says she was committing a fraud or anything. She just took advantage of the terms of the contract. Gotta side with TTH on this one.
California would be better served by doing away with collective bargaining for public employees; like other states are doing...collective bargaining rights were granted to unions by the liberal wing-nut Gov. Jerry Brown and has resulted in union rules that favor unions over the taxpayers of California.

Lawyer double speak; if the deal isn't enforceable then it it isn't welching !

The bigger picture is just how far left your (and Obama) poltiics are if you aren't outraged by such a sweetheart deal for public sector unions !

TTH is correct that a contract is and should be honored. However, the people need to start firing politicians that agree to such crazy contracts. The other side is why is staffing being managed so poorly that high cost overtime is necessary? Maybe some management personel need to be fired also. Either way it is typical of a government bureaucracy where the cost to taxpayers is not a concern.
No; but politicans (and others) who put the interests of unions ahead of taxpayers are !
