In light of the recent drama on the Board, I have been thinking a lot about what happened and how it transpired. Personally I believe, and I think many will agree, the drama between the girls did nothing to enhance our lives or our experiences here. In fact, it probably left a bad taste in most everyone's mouth. In a way it was both tragic and funny, as I believe many of us could see the eventual outcome and cringed at each mounting insult knowing full well what would probably transpire.
To me it seems that the troubles and arguments presented to the public, could be resolved much easier in a private moderation/mediation session... with the girls and an uninvolved, neutral mediation expert or panel. Sadly, the way it turned out a lot of people got upset, hurt, distracted, bothered... reputations were damaged and one Provider was banned. Very unfortunate, since all involved bring great things to the table.
So with that said, it seems to me that it would greatly benefit our group, as well as all of ECCIE (where I am pretty sure this type of squabble has happened many times before), if ECCIE could set up a national mediation expert or panel, to whom grievances such as we recently witnessed in public, could be presented, mediated and hopefully resolved to the benefit of all involved. This would remove the unnecessary drama from the public view, and give the grieving parties a neutral moderator who could hopefully help resolve the issues. This would keep our business/hobby running smoothly and ultimately prevent more banning of quality people from our community. I realize that there is a cost associated with this, but there is also a cost associated with the overload of unnecessary drama. Our community Moderators would not be involved in the mediation. Their job would be to refer the issue to the National Mediator before it blows up in public.
Do you think this is reasonable? Workable? Stupid? Should the idea be refined and presented to ECCIE Worldwide?
