I don't honestly believe that one person can get rid of another person's fetish. Fetishes are deeply ingrained. Even understanding why a fetish exists, how it came about, etc., wouldn't do it.
For example, I realize intellectually that insects are every bit as valid a protein source as beef, but I have a deep-seated revulsion at the thought of eating insects.
I know that my fascination with the idea of having large objects stuck up my ass has potential danger associated with it, but never the less, it still occupies a fair amount of time in my day to day thoughts.

I don't see how someone would be able to change who they are. (Shades of the way sometimes homosexuals are treated. People trying to "cure" them comes to mind)
