Awesome. I made a pledge. I look forward to seeing how the book turns out once they reach their goal. The female form in all of its shapes, sizes, and curves is beautiful. I love that this book celebrates the natural, everyday beauty in all women.
Ditto. Though this example is somewhat different, one of the most irritating campaigns I see nationwide right now is St. Jude's. Sure, it's a laudable cause, but every celebrity and his dog is on it for what is essentially a redundant cause of sucking up to each other. There are so many local projects and others that could use celebrity attention and which operate more efficiently and do as much or more good. They suffer from such efforts. It won't change, though.
If you're famous and come to my community for fundraising for your pet cause in some wealthy enclave 1200 miles away, I'll probably boycott your event and not patronize the local businesses that supported you for it because it demonstrates a lack of ingenuity and community support. Unfortunately, most people are easily influenced by media celebrity and would fall over themselves to be vicariously cool by buying into the cause celeb.
