What to do along the road from Houston to Shreveport?

I’m going to be driving to Shreveport tomorrow, and hopefully it will the first of many trips up that way. Does anyone have any suggestions of places to stop along the way for fun and some of my other favorite hobbies: good restaurants and boutique shopping…………….any suggestions??

Sweets.... I have made the run to S-port from Bmt. on many occasions. It's a very boring 4 hour drive! But.... once you get there it's a lot of fun. You have the casino's and just a few blocks away the downtown area is full of nightlife with several blocks of bars and restaurant. Across the river in Bossier there is a sort of outdoor mall that has a little bit of everything. Restaurants, shopping, movie theater, shopping, a nightclub, shopping...... You should love it! If you go though, don't go in the middle of the afternoon because it gets hot this time of year. Early evening is best and it is real nice and clean.

One idea is to stop in the Longview area and see me, lol.

SVfin got it right. It's not a hard drive but there really isn't much to grab your attention. There are lots of little towns and it's kind of fun to stop and poke around.

be sure and check the shopping mall at the river area in Bossier City...also a good fudruckers there
