Ladies: Need some help here.

Guys can chime in, too. Here's a situation I was in recently. Note: Because of my location in the boonies, I frequently schedule events 2 or more weeks in advance. You guys in Omaha who can go get laid anytime you want really piss me off. But I digress......

14 days before: I schedule the date.
9 Days before: Dang.....I'm coming down with something.
8 Days before: Really nasty summer cold.
6 Days before: Feeling human again
5 Days before: Feeling pretty good....some residual symptoms
1 Day before : Feeling fine, maybe a bit stuffy. Co-worker comments it sounds like I've still got a bad cold. If I sound this bad.....will it freak out the lady I'm seeing? I email her....laying out the above. Tell her I feel fine but sound bad. Give HER the pass or play option. She opts to play anyway.

My question: Did I handle this correctly? Ladies.....would you have wanted to know this prior to the meeting? Do you think I've just condemned myself to inferior service? I always want to do what is right for all parties involved. Is there a better way to handle this situation?
You handled it just fine. You told her you had a cold, but were feeling fine. Its on her now if she catches the cold and is down for a few days.

Myself, I always wanted to know if someone didn't feel good or was just on the tail end of a cold and I appreciated those calls from clients telling me if they were sick. I personally don't want to catch the flu/cold/whatever. Just like I'm sure they wouldn't want to catch a cold or the flu from me.
I agree, you handled it fine. Especially if you emailed her a day in advance, which gives her time to schedule something else if you couldn't make it.

I'd say you're pretty darned considerate. If she becomes ill, it's on her. She still chose to accept the date. :-)

Whadda schweetheart you are!

See, now, I guess I don't comprehend someone who can't take 30 seconds to text, e-mail, or call someone with this or other relevant info, like, I'm late, I'm lost, I can't make it, there's a cop parked outside your door, etc.

I mean, really ladies, is this that out of the ordinary? Are we (men) that callous and obtuse in general?
I'm a worrier. Am I communicating enough? So much that I'm wasting her time? Providing too much info? I find this feedback very helpful. Thanks to all.

You were very considerate and communicated well and at least warned her well before instead of just showing up and mentioning you're sick like an afterthought.
