1988 is a long time ago: Go Irish!

Woooo Hooooo! K State is going down; Oregon is trailing. When's the last time Notre Dame was ranked No. 1 this late in the season? Hell, I'm a fan, and I don't even know.

Now if the Irish can just take care of business against Southern Cal, nothing will keep them from the championship game. And I WILL host that party. I'd love to get some PMs from folks who might like to attend. It'll give me an idea how much beer to buy.

And feel free to party with me even if you hate Notre Dame and will cheer against them with gusto. It's all in good fun after all.
Notre Dame will play Alabama for the national championship and be an 8-9 point underdog and yet still win the game by one point.(See 1973 Championship).

I can't bet on Notre Dame. I've learned that when it comes to teams I root for, my judgment isn't always good.
Too true. Worked for a sports handicapper in the mid 80's. He said if you have an emotional attachment to a team, it distorts your judgement and you shouldn't bet on that game. On another subject: IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW THEY GOT THERE, NOTRE DAME IS PLAYING FOR THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. I'm so freakin' happy I could burst!

You are a Notre Dame fan and a Bears fan. St. Rita's High School in Chicago?

while I do congratulate the Irish fans, I will say enjoy while you can. I just don't see ND beating Bama or Georgia. ND has not faced a defense as big & fast as either one of those two teams. and sorry but beating Stanford & Chokelahoma just isn't that impressive. There's a reason the SEC has won the last 7 of the last nine NC's. Defense wins Championships period. ND has a great defense but Georgia and Bama both have enough speed on offense to break some plays. I do hope it will at least be a good game though and ND doesn't just get blown out of the water.

The Party is ON! Sorry about the late post, but if you want to attend, send me a PM for details.
Okay, so now we know that Bama is one kick ass team. 'Cept they had a loss this year. And the team that beat them kicked the Sooners so far over the Red River that they needed a map to get back to OK. So, where will the Ag's wind up?:thumbs up:

I haven't looked at the paper today, but Kirk Bohls predicted a moderately close game. Well, it was until the kick off.

I bet Rudy is very disappointed.

Horrible game, unless your are a Bama fan. I was rooting for the Irish but knew they had to play close to a perfect game to win. And the game they played was about as far from perfect as possible. Couldn't tackle. Poor offensive game plan. As avid a sports fan as I am, I turned off the game and watched Castle.

I think A&M should be top 5, possibly even 2nd. They looked great against OU,
