The other thread was my sarcasm towards said point

ahhhhh OK

I left a few bombs Friday all over the board tryin to make 13000. Half should have been good for a point.

so 15 or so should have, and not even a warning.

apparently some male members you can insult all day if the mods of the area do not like the guy.

I think GBOF once received a point for saying "lube".

I usually only learn or slightly remember a rule after someone says something about it. Rules are good and important only if everyone has to follow them and everyone gets equally in trouble which obviously isn't the case here at all. There would be crickets in upstate because the vast majority of us would be banned.

well i did say male member. slip up posting about almost any female, its a different story.

And the 2nd handle crap is BS. to bad its hard to enforce. yen not a problem with others mmmmmm female 2nd handle as male with PA never gets hit by some mods.

OSD I have had the responsibility to occasionally throw the Ban switch and I hate to say it, No actually I don't, I've done it for both genders. I'm not proud but ...

"Points" don't mean much, certainly. And "Bans" can be circumvented by anyone motivated. My way of looking at it is that they ALL serve as reminders that you should think a bit before you post. Someone is always paying attention. Often, it is not the Mods. Most of you get blown in by other members when you go too far.

Look, things ain't perfect here. That's what you get when you have a group of individual "volunteers" who all differ in their interpretations about how things should be run. We will never make everyone happy. For every person that defends a review like the one posted by GBOF, there will be another that bitches about it.

I will stick by what I have said many times. This board is pretty damn decent compared to most similar sites out there. They are a real mess, with tons of flames, spam, and useless shit. Heck, even other "geographic areas" of this board are pretty unpleasant. Or they are wastelands where no one posts.

And there is still lots of leeway here. This thread is a perfect example. GB didn't like what happened. So he gets to have his say (though I suspect he restrained himself!). But he sticks around, I hope. Because it is worth it. But it will never be perfect. Even when the day comes when robots run this board.
