Well, as has been stated, everyone defines "GFE" differently. So... here's how I define it: dresses in sweats unless bitching b/c I'm not taking her somewhere "nice"; bitching because whatever I bought her for Valentine's/our 1.5 mo. anniversary/some-other-petulant-female-designed-for-you-to-fail-gift-giving-occasion wasn't PERFECT; bitching about how she thinks she's fat; bitching because after I tell her she isn't, I refuse to go on-and-on-and-ON about how she isn't; bitching because I'm "emotionally unavailable" after a 14-hour day at work, whatever the fuck that means; NEVER wants to have sex; ANY head would be an improvement, so Pyramider's comment is right on; bitching because I would rather stay home and relax on a weekend than visit her mother; bitching because she wants me to pony up to fix her piece-of-crap ride; bitching because... well, doesn't matter. You get the idea.

I think the BIG difference is in attitude
According to everyones definition,I find it so hard to define myself as gfe or pse or fetish.....I am not fully a dom or fully a gfe or fully a pse...i just mix it all up and do what feels so dam good!

I've only had one or two BFE/GFE sessions within my hobby travels... In fact, I wasnt event aware of the BFE for a provider... I thought (Naivete on my part!) it was mostly business for them. Stupid of me! We all have things we need or want, if I fill that void for a provider on some level - that makes me feel good too.
Funny thing is, I'm pretty dense - always have been... I usually cant tell if a woman is into me or hitting on me (unless it directly blatant). But I've only had one provider who told me in a pm that i gave her a great BFE experience (that made me feel very good). We completely lost all track of time having fun talking and 'stuff'.
But to me, that doesnt necessarily mean that goes hand-in-hand with GFE. Just like mentioned before - GFE is in the eye of the beholder. Just like in a relationship in the Civilian world, each one is different. No Girlfriend is the same, or holds the same limits/boundaries. Same goes on in our arena.
But to be honest, It is fulfilling for me to know that I have provided a nice time with a provider (as well as them with me), and if they feel for themselves that it was a BFE time - Thats great! That means there was some connection to a degree, at that time. In those cases, I'd stick with them as a regular if I'm allowed. Its more like good friends getting together. Which is exactly what it is, to think it could be anything more is just immature and not practical (IMO)...

Having been a girlfriend many times, my boyfriends and I kept those rubber plantations and those factory testing machines pumpingand kept the Trojan brand on the stock market! And never, not ONCE, did we use them for oral. GFE should be, romantic, playful, nasty, erotic, and just plain fun! Even goofy at times! I would absolutely LOVE it if a guy got goofy with me! The term GFE is one of the most overly discussed, analyzed, debated in the hobby. Ultimately I do not believe that it can be defined because It's probably something different to almost everyone.
I agree with the poster who said that the E was for emotion, that's one of the better explanations I've heard. It's not that I'm trying to replicate my experiences in the civi world, but I do not want to feel like a nameless, faceless, product on an assembly line when I see a lady.
I want to feel like we are having a romantic encounter or we're friends with benefits or something other than simply the transference of an envelope, even though it lasts only an hour and she's acting.
I keep hoping for Oscar caliber performances from the ladies. Some ladies are superb at this and some are not or do not try. I don't equate the term GFE with a menu of acts but with the way the lady and I interact.
I always try to be a good customer and treat her with respect, I understand that seeing me IS work for her.

I think some comments above are matching mine. (But one note... I did have a hot girlfriend (just after high school) for several years that couldn't stand even the taste of the early leakage.....I wish I would have known of un-lubed gloves back then. A cbj would have been better than no bj.
Here are some examples of GFE and non-GFE:
1. Not GFE: Amsterdam Red Light...super hottie opens glass door wearing next to nothing. Customer drops 50 euro and she sets a 15 minute timer. If you walked in on your own, no suck. If she offered suck-n-fuck at the door to entice you, cbj then fuck. One position only. You pay for position change. (Note: just pay for a second 15 minutes after your done w/first 15 ....if you liked it.) Customer gets kicked out when he unloads or in 15 minutes...whichever comes first.
2. Not GFE: Singapore...they call it "boom boom" which usually means two shots. 3. Not GFE: Latin America: She arrives and reminds you of the money and agrees to the time. If you didn't clarify how many "leches" (milk) before, ....customer gets only one. She shows you her Latin goodness and tries to get you going as fast as she can. As soon as customer loses control, she gets dressed while the customer cleans up.
4. GFE with a Laffy girl: She shows up on time at your nice outcall. You've had a long drive from H town and she knows it so she gives you a big hug then kicks off her shoes. She kisses your neck and tells you how good you smell and reminds you how handsome you are. Suggests next time could meet first for a glass of wine instead of in the room. Unbuttons something...yours or hers....and kisses some more. Might whisper what's ahead or might keep it a surprise. Pretty soon everyone is naked and the session moves to a little "something" you might do with a GF. The moves to some of "that" you would expect from a GF...without asking. Then you push on her in a certain way and she knows exactly what to do...and does it great.
