Can a PM sent to me be shared with anyone other than a Mod?
I see the foward button at the bottom of my PMs and I just wondered.

By the letter of the law I read it as private communications can't be shared in the forums. I didn't read it saying anything about sharing privately via pm or other ways. I will say I think it is bad form since it is sent private to you and this hobby revolves around privacy.

Weird that I never noticed the forward button before.

While I don't disagree with the bad form comment and hence I've never shared a pm ...this could be a special circumstance and could possibly affect other members of this forum.

I don't see any rule or guideline that prohibits sharing a pm in private but I'm curious to see if I missed or misunderstood anything.

I dont think you missed anything and definitely agree there are cases where it is in the boards best interest to forward something along.

The police (mods) don't monitor PMs unless it is reported by the person getting it. However, if there was some stupid guidelines hidden somewhere, nothing can stop what happens off site... IE screen shot email, or copy and paste on a messaging service.

I don't know what the current ruling on this topic is but I have always believed that if someone sends me a PM it should not be shared with anyone unless the originator says it's ok. Thus the name "Private" message........
