Fulfillment of Living

I'm not disputing the general idea of what you're saying, Wreckshop. I think it's important to establish a credit history and report income and all that.

But my point is that you can't just choose a business, any business and launder your money through it. It's simple. But it's not that simple.

I've had several dba's. When you go down to the tax office and file for one, you don't just say, "I'll have one business, please. Thank you."
You have to give them details. Industry, sector, blah de blah de blah.
If I tell them it's a hair salon, that info gets forwarded over to the relevant state agencies. Eventually they'll want to visit with me. They do that.

If I say I'm selling lipstick out of the trunk of my car, the tax office is gonna issue me a sales tax permit along with my dba. I'm required by the state to file a sales tax return quarterly or yearly as long as I have that dba, even if my sales are zero.
If I start claiming income from my sales and I'm not paying sales taxes, Texas will garnish your shit.
Ask me how I know.

Yeah. I know. Your examples weren't "concrete". But my point is just that it's not as simple as you're trying to make it.

Lying to creditors and car dealers is one thing. The IRS and the Texas State Comptroller is another. Originally Posted by Lauren Mayfair

Now if I try registering it with a state agency, getting building leased in its name, etc.. then that's when it gets deeper.

And the garnishing part. Lol.. this is a public forum so I'm not going to continue. But I'm a put it like this.. being scared that your little sole propriety that's connected to a bank account will suffer garnishing's somewhere down the line is like spanking your kids bottom till it turns red and being afraid that in the middle of the night CPS is going to kick down your door and take your lil one from you.

Unqualified financial advice but it will get you a car from a low end dealer especially the ones advertising "in house financing"

the chick was trying to get a car but had no pay stubs.

I provided a 3-5 month quick fix.

She can close the account after 6 months I GUARENTEE you that no one is going to be beating down her door for a financial audit over a failed 6 month small business launch attempt.

That sounds totally out of character for her.
I must have missed that post.
LM, I happen too know a guy that knows a guy...
PM me, we'll get you that car loan through bat channels.
BatWhore's credit is always good in my neighborhood.

Of course they will garnish you. Do you think the State of Texas just doesn't care if small businesses (even the littlest ones) collect sales tax and keep it? Come on, dude. That's their money.

Your CPS analogy is flawed. They have no idea how I parent or what I do on a day to day basis.
But if I call them and tell them I'm about to beat my kid, they're probably gonna show up at my door.
If I file for a sales tax permit, the state is gonna expect a check. Because I just TOLD THEM TO.

Also, an audit and a garnishment are hardly the same thing.

If you file for a Tax ID number to go along with your small business name you're going to likely expect something.

If you open up a business bank account under some DBA certificate you got from the tax office, no one's dipping in there to garnish money out. And if that were to happen, there's quite a few steps involved before it gets to that.

Government: Hey LM - You created a business called "Mayflour's beauty salon and sweet smelling products" We don't see any necessary filings. What happened?

LM: I quit. It never started.

Government: But you were required to file a sales tax permit and you didn't..

LM: oops, my bad. What's the financial penalty for this?

Government: Well umm... x amount of dollars.

LM: Can you send that to me in an invoice so I can mail it?

Government: Sure.

LM: Thanks.

Government: Oh by the way. We decided to go a step further and look into some personal bank accounts. We see there's a business account.

LM: I use it along with my personal account to keep money and do regular banking.

Government: We're now extending our magnifying glass and are noticing deposits. Where are they from? SALES???

LM: Naw, I have a sugar daddy and my grand pappy likes giving me money because I'm his favorite.

Government: PROVE IT!!!

LM: Do you want a sworn statement or for me to video tape them giving me cash..

Government: Yes.. we will call for a hearing in court to verify all of this.

LOL LOL LOL LOL.... right..
Like I said, this had been quite amusing.
I got a pretty good chuckle out of that one.
Got any more imaginary conversations up in that nogin of yours?
These are imaginary right? Its not like you got voices talking to you?
that would be cause for concern...

And really, who'd want to have that conversation anyway? When there are so many other options.
