The reason why he's leading is very simple. He has nothing to lose and everything to gain. Another factor in his favor is he's not a politician. He doesn't have to appeal to anyone. He is sincere as a heart attack. He lays it all on the table, you either like it or ya don't, that's his attitude. It is a little awkward to have a candidate with this much intestinal fortitude. Suppose that someone claimed that he "made his nut" early and got out, retiring before the age of 40. But he posted elsewhere on the site that he had a hard time scheduling anything because of his difficult work schedule.

At one time a few months ago, he claimed that he was a "freelance writer," and had in fact written pieces that many of us undoubtedly had read. On another day, he claimed to be a traveling salesman who was on the road about 300 days per year. On yet another, he claimed to have invented some ingenious iPhone app that many of us probably use. The guy is all over the map!

But it gets even better. He topped all this off by boasting that his life is better than I can hope that mine will ever be! (Yet all he can afford is a $150 BP hooker, and a fat one at that.)

You know, I think someone like that ought to be careful about calling someone else "insecure." IJS.
