Some of us guys try and convince ourselves this is any easy business for the providers. I've looked in the mirror and can clearly see that is not the case. A small token of appreciation in the form of a tip is just the right thing to do. If the service was not good, don't repeat.

As a general rule I don't tip sole proprietors who are in full control of their rate structure and who do not rely upon gratuity for the bulk of their earnings.

Superlative service ensures repeat business and, more importantly, referrals which any good business person knows are worth their weight in gold.

I have tipped occasionally, probably more so in the past than in the present. My current trend is pay providers what they ask, don't haggle at all, and don't accept discounts.

9 times out of 10 (or more) I pay at the end of the session by forgetting (slipping) some cash either beside or in the provider's purse as we are in the getting dressed / clean up mode. It is for the full amount, even if a special rate was offered.

I research the provider first and know my hobby budget. I usually tip 15% to 20% when making the donation before the session.

If the tip is not warranted I do not see her again.
