Why not? I've done many and have never had a problem, even fall asleep sometimes. If you're spending that much time with another person, both parties should have done some research (provider: speaking to other refs before everyone flips out on what I mean by research) before accepting. I guess an on the fly overnight would be different.

Hey guys wow not one person stood up for me I been on this site a year no problems...
I am driving right now but I had to pull over when this was brought to my attention

He showed up for an hr appointment
Then asked to stay till 7
Went to sleep woke up at 6 did another round and he left I even reminded him to get his watch

You could have checked his pants for a weapon, money to see if he could pay you for the sleepover or maybe your just nosey but from what I can gather , nothing went missing.
