I've had students in my classes at university that can't write a proper sentence. Our school even had courses in basic arithmetic. I mean, addition and subtraction, and students were struggling. This is due to federal control. The teacher has to focus their class on the slowest learner, while the bright students get bored, and in trouble. Education has gotten steadily worse with federal control.

The Trail of Tears, the financial greed behind slavery, Japanese internment camps, Indian schools, why it took so long to integrate the military, the persecution of the Mormons, the crusades from the perspective of those being invaded, the atrocities & treachery of the Europeans that destroyed the Incas, and why the US has disproportionally more people incarcerated than almost any other country.

While we are at it, let's have a true comparative religions course taught by actual believers of the different faiths.

Of course we should include coursework on the stupid ideas that won't die including hate filled movements of the past such as Nazism, Communisms, African-on-African genocide, the Tuskegee experiments, the KKK, and the Inquisition. If we don't teach why they arose and why they are evil, then we have failed the next generations.

We can move on to science, economics, and other topics, but since you brought up bigotry, I figured we could start there. But somehow I suspect you have a much simpler and more bigoted agenda in mind, don't you?

Shari law should never by part of the US legal system. Just as the 10 commandments, orthodox Judaic laws, or the 8 pillars of Buddhism should not be.

I denounce all of those as far as superseding the constitution or US laws. That is no different than my belief that Sunday blue laws are wrong. If anyone wants to follow kosher or halaal dietary practices for themselves, fast during Ramadan or on Good Friday, fine. Just do it as your own religious belief, not because I need follow your religious beliefs.
