I don't believe CK ever said anything about collecting data that wasn't already in play, nothing compromising, just gathering contacts together for private communication, but I see where conclusions were made. I applaud her initiative and effort, despite speculation some may be making on motivation or consequence. Running any project is a seesaw of experimentation and frustration, and there will always be detractors and advocates. However, there comes a time when an endeavor just isn't worth the stress! (Something ECCIE powers-that-be may also be thinking.)

Probably best that we each take our own precautions, given the mood in the air.

imo, there soon will be more than a few efforts like yours and eventually many more and other resources, as well.

No matter what happens down the line, the new laws are not in effect (if ever they survive legal challenges) until the start of 2019, so we all have some lead time on preparing for eventualities.

But, as with any website worth its salt, always best to backup contstantly and have alternative web hosts available just in case of technology failure or interference of some sort.
