I was banned for redirecting the discussion away from a thread's original topic . . .reputedly . . .over on the political forum.

Six months: So I missed all the exciting political stuff that happened between President Biden's debate performance and just this week!

By being so focused on politics in 2024 and not the hobby (due to rehab from several hip surgeries) I also missed the departure of most of the most fun forums here . . .what is up with that?

I've only had one seat at camp.

Just a bit of advice you probably already know, a certain person here loves to scream about something not being on topic when the subject doesn't go his way. He will deliberately take a fight to the political forum after he has lost in a particular city. When he hits the RTM it's obvious.
The excuse ,"HATE SPEECH" is the common denominator he spews at trying to shut down freedom of speech when not one person has mentioned any violence or threats.

Getting banned isn't that bad, it only affects the ones that have no life besides this place and are here daily gossiping

I have to admit that the posted insults I've read are hilarious and have a longer affects that the ban 😂 that's priceless

Icu is one of the least confrontational posters and to my knowledge hasn't ever been rude or insulting. Overall a good member

My thanks for the kind words of support. These days I am only posting here and on the Political forum for personal resaons.

It is my belief that ad-homonym responses and name calling, however cute or apt, do not present a concept or idea. So my posts in response to nonsense are non-confrontational. The realm of the Political Forum should be the " Arena of Ideas" as Rush Limbaugh used to say.

Again: My thanks to all for their welcome and kind words.

In the other forums for actual hobbying, is very difficult for most members on here to have a different opinion on the same subject and not insulting those with different opinions other than themselves. When it comes to the political forum, it's even worse!
