Contrary to what Trump claimed, average retail egg prices paid by consumers were still increasing last month,according tothe latest Bureau of Labor Statistics data that is publicly available. In March, the nationwide average price for a dozen grade A white eggs was about $6.23 – up 5.6% from $5.90 in February, and up 25.7% from $4.95 in January.

Average grocery prices overall went up in March as well, contradicting Trump’s April 18claimthat “groceries are down,” too. The Consumer Price Index forat-home food itemsincreased 0.49% from February — the last monthly decrease in the CPI was in March 2024.

April data on retail egg prices, and grocery prices, will be published in May. The average retail price of eggs would have to fall to about $0.35 a dozen for Trump’s claim of a “93%, 94%” price drop to be accurate.

Trump haspreviously referredto wholesale prices when claiming that egg prices have decreased by large percentages. The wholesale price is what retailers pay to farmers and other egg producers to procure eggs to sell in their stores.

But even wholesale prices haven’t declined by more that 90%.

Who cares about prices of all essentials. Eggs, gas, home buying..exc. we have the Gulf of America now...that's all that matters.

Eggs are a staple grocery item and have been for quite some time. For many they are essential, but current prices and shortages have made them a luxury again.

It's patently ridiculous the way MAGA pretends to be no longer concerned about the price of eggs. Or gas. Or anything else. After all the bellyaching for 4 years. It's all the proof one needs to label it a cult.
Point is Egg prices are under what we paid during Biden, and this thread has run its course. Originally Posted by Devo
Dude, what planet are you shopping on? Egg prices are nowhere close to what they were under Biden. If you can even find them, they're still about 30-40% more expensive than they were a year ago.

You don’t have to be a farmer to buy eggs from one.
They're not essential anyway. Just a political prop, when it gets right down to it. Nobody seems to care that they're at record high prices anymore.

Exactly. Except, apparently, whatever planet Devo travels to for his groceries. The rest of us, here on earth, are paying much more eggs, gas and many other essentials than we were when mean ol' Joe Biden was in office.
