Flooding disaster in Texas

I haven't blamed Trump for the disaster. I blamed the state and FEMA for their poor response time, which absolutely is within their control.

Many people needed help, found none... like those trying to call FEMA

what's appalling is the readiness to blame a natural disaster on trump Originally Posted by The_Waco_Kid

I am blaming him, however, for gutting the National Weather Service and hiring an absolute bobblehead clown to head up Homeland Security. Kristi Noem is more interested in playing dress-up and hating brown people than she is letting FEMA do its job.

The blood is on her and trump's hands. They couldn't have failed more miserably in their response. This is what happens when the worst people in the world are in positions of power. Many of these deaths could have (should have) been prevented.

prove how many of the victims could have been saved. FEMA is after the fact, after the disaster. nothing FEMA could have done in advance would have made any difference.

The National Weather Service was most definitely gutted by trump (via DOGE).

Flash flood warnings issued night before, NWS had 'surge staffing'

Questions have swirled around if there was enough warning and enough staffing for the early Friday morning floods in the wake of the Trump administration's job cuts to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

But NOAA confirmed that the National Weather Service's Austin/San Antonio office had five meteorologists working the severe weather event as part of its "surge staffing" protocol. It is normally staffed with two.

NOAA also said the NWS had forecast briefings Thursday morning, issued a flood watch Thursday afternoon and then issued flash flood warnings on Thursday night and early Friday. This gave "preliminary lead times of more than three hours before flash flooding conditions occurred," NOAA said in a statement.

possible heavy rain and flooding was forecast. these campers accepted the risk. Originally Posted by The_Waco_Kid

blaming Trump is a Zero sum game. it was a known risk and alerts were sent well in advance. the lack of local warning sirens like old school Civil Defense/Weather is on Texas not Trump.

Lots to go around.

Where did the 10 million dollars go to that was supposed to be used at the local and state level for emergency preparedness. They blew it on upgrading radios and paying increases to local LEO sheriff's. The location is know dor bad cell reception and flash floods.

Maybe they could have put in more cell towers, sirens or notifications to ALL residents when flash floods were imminent? Similar to tornado sirens. Those are hard to sleep through while you're camping. Especially if they are constantly going off.

What about the camp operators who owe notice of dangers to campers of any type while on the property.

While no single administration can be blamed for increasing severe and extreme weather phenomenon, denying that it's happening is really a kick to balls for ppl who lost family members to this flood. When 100 yr rains happen every 5-10 yrs, something is way the heck up!!

I doubt Joe Bs offer to pay for a better emergency alert system would be suspect, but denying it's necessary then, or especially NOW surely is. It's insane how REDHATS want to stear clear of any trajedies by denying that there is real dangers besides ILLEGALS and MARXISTS.

Dissatisfaction with the delayed response and the admin's added bureaucratic hurdles that slowed down response effort in Texas were a tipping point that has led the FEMA search and rescue chief to resign.

The same MAGA RedHats that scream "Prove me wrong, or Prove yourself right", are the same dipshits that don't ever cite any facts or propaganda.

And IF they ever do, ....

it's always off of some bullshit like X, telegraph, newsmax, national review or another site for suckers. It's comical and shows the lack of depth of thinking outside of claiming they know the high ground, and their "opinions" must be disproven. LOLLING.
