I think a good passive solution would be zero federal funding for that state until that's sorted out. Make them pay for it and the tune may change. No agents in the street risking their lives to enforce laws that should be enforced by the local communities. No extra cost to the federal govt for housing, feeding, and medical care for those people. It'll sort itself out, or it won't be my problem by proxy and tax expense.

This whole immigration issue is a political stunt that both sides use to raise money from people who are dumb enough to fund these assholes, on both sides.

And because there was no real accounting during the open door Biden years we cannot get a good number from any source.

At times, there were videos of folks walking into the USA by the thousands daily. Often the number reported each day exceeded the total population of my home town including the student body of the local state university.
