Sorry to hear that.

While I am mostly against deposits, sometimes there are legit reasons for a provider asking for them, however with that being said, I would only send them to a provider with an extensive background in the industry that has something to lose by scamming hobbiest.

Stay with vouched providers here or on ourhome. Chances are slim to none you will ever get scammed.
Anyone who says they haven’t been ripped off while doing this is a liar. I can count about 4 or 5 in the last 25 years. As long as you are not set up to be shot/ killed you can recover. Be careful with these listcrawler ladies gents. That is not a reputable site and they have nothing to lose

It’s does not matter if you are a reputable provider with extensive background, all it takes is 1 time to scam someone.

I’ve read a handful of reports in the past where reputable provider scams a client.

All it takes 1 time
