Does someone's online persona reflect who they are in real life?

Another member and I were talking about this a while back. While it's true that the internet is a paradox in which you can 'hide' your personality and morph into someone else, I always believed that someone's posting style and their online personality were really much closer to who they truly were than who they weren't. Do you agree or disagree?
I think it depends on the person and what their agenda is.

I think some peoples personalities can be taken to more extremes when on the internet while others portray themselves with in more realistic terms
Yes. And, you are still seeing me? Right?
I am a very sexy and respectful individual. I only received infractions during my 'London Rayne' phase where I was trying to impress her. It worked.

As you can tell from my posts, I am a very Open, Respectful, Cultural and Sexy individual.

I am a dork here.

On the p, I had six personas. One provider and five fucktards. Each had its own posting style. I am too lazy to resurrect some of the others .... but if circumstances dictate ... they can come back and start a nice little shit storm within the group alone.
WOW are you self employed or retired how did you find time to make six different personas?

I think it's funny how some of these "personas" reflect themselves as the biggest A-HOLES they can possibly be on the boards...and then you meet them in real life and they are so nice and polite it makes me sick to my stomach.

I can't stand fake people...the hypocrisy is nauseating.

As far as the Aholes, I just assume they are bitter about something and have been dealt a cruel hand in life and take it out on others, some put others down to make them feel better about themselves...who knows.. I just try to stay away from them. I like being in the happy zone too much, life is so much better that way to me...IMO!

I think that who you are on here is closer to who you really are because there's really no consequences of being yourself. Tell someone to fuck off or just being a dick might get your teeth knocked in if done in person.

Of course there are plenty that will adamantly deny that their personas on here are a reflection of their true selves. Deny all you want but if you typed it then it came from your mind.

Some people are just like their internet personas and others aren't.

However, I am nothing like my online persona. I'm extremely shy and demure in person....nice too .

I will admit that I say what I feel a lot more on here.
Hell it's the internet. Anyone can be superman/superwoman behind a keyboard .

But... I'll let the guys in NOLA be the judge of that!
