Wasn't that the basis for the book "Catch 22?" After a pilot had flown so many missions, they could rotate back to the states. However, as guys started reaching the magic number, it kept increasing. I guess the powers that be never expected anyone to survive that long.

I was told, 5, and got mine after 5. But that was 18 months ago.........

I've been there many times, beginning when they first opened, and they use to always honor the wavying of the door fee after every 5 visits. Even gave me a pair of socks as a Christmas gift one year ! Haven't been there much since Ace opened in Mobile, so don't really know the current policy. But, they use to really take care of their regulars !.

The "magic number" they are referring to is how many visits you need to make before they give you a free "door fee". That number appears to increase every year, because I too was told 5 visits would get me a free door fee and many guys did benefit from it. However, when I last visited 6 months or so ago, I was told by the girl I saw that it had increased to 10 and now it has gone up to 15. Although it would be nice for them to grandfather us guys who started when it was 5, they are still the best AMP game in the area and I doubt many guys go just in the hopes of saving $60 sometime in the future.
