11,000 Electrical Engineers headed to NoLa

Has anyone been around when this convention came to town? Are they Hobbyists to the degree one would think they would be? The Convention calander says they are in town from Nov 9-20. Seems like a long time. ??

I have my business in the French Quarter and am familiar with the conventions...
Tha dates mentioned are sometimes confusing to people who are not familiar with them... the dates reflect the whole time that the conventions will be using the Convention Center, set up displays, take down, etc...

The conventioneers are usually here for about 3-5 days. I just had a great weekend with the Realtors, very nice people and they made an effort to spend money here. They reported that the realty business is still slow but was showing some signs of improving... anyway, hope this helps...!

Craigslist is actually fantastic for that! You could always do a housing swap, which a friend of mine did. He swapped from New Orleans to San Diego for a summer during an internship.
