Not everybody obeys them that's the primary cause of vehicular accidents. Even though driving is a privilege and not a right we still have the freedom to travel without restriction. What if the Government imposed restrictions on the hours people can drive for the sake of safety. Between 4am and 6pm would be the only times people can drive in an effort to reduce traffic fatalities. So a kid goes to work at 2pm in the afternoon and gets off at 7pm now he can't drive home. The whole point everyone is making is that safety is not the sole responsibility of government and safety implemented by the government should not restrict our freedoms and liberties.

What a coward. Also, James Holmes received his sentence yesterday. I don't think life in jail will stop others from shooting random people. Maybe we could start by putting metal detectors everywhere and have security near by. But then again, even airports are not 100% safe with all that. This world is going insane, it's so sad.
