This threAD has morphed into a discussion beyond the OPs stupidity. That is a good thing.
Fancy, you are making a very common mistake that modtards make. You are policing your threAD. Modtards are not the police, and neither should you try to be. It is a trap.
Yes, I have left your threAD alone. Because, it is actually useful to a newbie hobbyist and it is in a forum designed to help hobbyists. If it had been in here, I would have made it my little playground.
I know you were not making a power play. That is not in your nature. What you do not understand is it was a power move none the less, albeit unintentional. If PistolPete had allowed your comment to stand, there are some here who would have ridden him like an ass on ash wednesday.
I suspect you felt attacked. I would suggest PistolPete was saving you and your threAD from the circling sharks. Your blunt comment forced him to respond in kind. Perception is reality.
Lastly, removing Pheonix Sky from the list is a checker move. Leaving her there with a linck to this threAD under the title of "Buyer Beware" would be a chess move......ijs

I thinck policing is within their job description but only as it applies to enforcing the written guidelines not saving fucktard and hooktards from themselves. No one forced any hooktard to join Fancy's thread.
If Fancy's thread was allowed with the caveat that the modtards would not be interfering then they should not have been interfering. The rest of the response below is predicated on that
if as has been suggested happened.
An argument might be that they still have a responsibility to police the thread at least for nuclear shit or even guideline violations and I would agree with that but I would counter that they should have either 1) not excuse themselves from the thread in the first place or 2) closed the thread as soon as it opened citing clear concise reasoning at least to the OP.
They opted for 3) allow the thread and excusing themselves from it but then inserting themselves when it got sideways. A little forethought, which seems to be lacking, would have prevented a knee jerk reaction, which seems to be prevalent.
My guess is the modtards actually saw the potential chaos of the thread and weighed it with potential problems and potential blowback. They chose to kick the can down the road to see how it played out. Not unreasonable but also not without potential unintended or predictable consequences. They probably though that if they excused themselves they wouldn't have to "work" the thread and probably gave some credit to Fancy's professionalism hoping that ultimately that could work and serve the general fucktard population. Chosing option 3 created the least initial blowback and work on their part, maybe not so much now. What it may also do is create more discontent amongst the huddled masses.
But I thinck I'm a fucking cat. What do I know?
